Looking at the different installations
The different installations helped me to reflect on my choreography, in the way that they helped me to analyze what I did and why I did it in that style and how that style is. I could see the different elements of my choreography in different visualizations that helped me to get a better understanding and feel of my choreography. I could visually see and feel how I answered and corresponded to the chosen theme and could question my choreography on a more distant and abstract level. Furthermore I got inspired by the different translations to go back to the studio and develop my choreography further by working with the segmentation of the different elements of choreography as well as thematically concerning parts I didn't touch in my choreographic answer. (Those ideas will be discussed in "Next steps".
What the different installations showed me
Wood/Plastic installation
What the essence of what moved me thematically was, being the discrepancy between “gauben” and “wissen”
Paper installation
My intention and my personal definition of the two terms “glauben”, “wissen”. My own kinestestetic experience of circularity and linearity.
Light installation
The dynamics and speed of my choreography. Made me realize that my answer to “wissen” was quite fast although looking at the term it could have been filled with more rest and be more static.
Headphones with the sound of myself
Displayed the intensity of my choreography being quite gentle and silent to begin with and then more and more intense, out of breath and outgoing. The question arose why I did certain parts so slow and others very fast.
Sound installation
Helped me to reflect on the directions and intensity of the circular and linear movements and use of space of my choreography.
Projection
Showed me the substance of my choreography in another medium.
Sculptures
Displayed the 5 elements of my choreography in separated entities and displayed the different shapes of floor pattern at one glance.
